Illness and medications

  * Parents should keep their children home if they have the following symptoms:

    * Vomiting

    * Diarrhea

    * Sore throat

    * Difficulty swallowing or breathing

    * High fever

    * Cold systems, coughing, constant runny nose that produces unclear mucus 

       or interferes with activities

    * Earaches that have not been checked by a physician

* IF ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS DEVELOP WHILE YOUR CHILD IS AT THE PROGRAM, 

  YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD WITHIN THE HOUR.

* Prescribed medication may be given by day care provider under the following conditions:

    * Medication is prescribed by a physician.

    * The prescription includes the child’s name, name of medication, dose and time of

       administration, and start and stop dates and is less than 30 days old.

    * Medication is in the original container.

    * Medications have specific dosages.

    * Child has been on oral medication 24 hours before a dose is administrated by a 

       provider. This allows the child to adjust to the medication while under parental care.
